Blockwork

Blockwork is the common description for building using bricks that are made from concrete.

These blocks ‘mimic those that are made from natural stone or bricks but at a much lower cost to the consumer. These days they are considered the most common building material in the world. Not only can they be used to make foundations and walls, but also for flooring too, making them a ubiquitous material in the construction industry.

Reed’s Building Services are able to build your single or double storey extension using these blocks to enable natural thermal heating or to combine thus creating additional insulation into your new space.

Tiling

Tiling is quite literally a work of art. Something that some of us like to think ‘ I could give that a go’ but then wish we hadn’t!

There is a great deal of preparation that goes into a perfectly tiled finish which can include removal of old tiling, old plaster, layers of wallpaper or in the case of floors, removing existing carpets, underlay, wooden flooring or even levelling a concrete base to use as a foundation.

Next is the levelling of the surfaces.It is all part of the process that needs to be done precisely to ensure a perfect finish, which is the bit that our customers see.

Tiles themselves come in such a vast array of not only sizes, shapes and colours but there are textures to consider too.

From textured to smooth surfaces. There are gloss finishes for kitchen and bathrooms tiles, then the ornate, metallic, glass and tactile finishes all thrown into the mix. Whichever finish you are looking for, Reed’s Building Services can source, supply and install.
